During the festive season many people will decorate their homes with gorgeous lights, some go all out and some keep it simple. Some people get annoyed when Christmas lights start to show as early as November, me however, I absolutely adore Christmas lights and would love to see them all year round! Thanks to the Christmas Lights Spectacular at Hunter Valley Gardens, my brother Mavrick and I were able to surround ourselves amongst festive cheer with the largest lights display in the Southern Hemisphere!
The Gardens are open daily from 9am - 4pm and the lights display are open from 5:30pm - 10pm. The Hunter Valley Gardens are simply incredible in both day and night and to make the most of your visit here, I highly encourage you to get in before the sun goes down to really appreciate it's beauty, there's still plenty to see and do!
Christmas lights aren't the only attraction here in the gardens, there's also live entertainment, a Santa's workshop with moving puppets that really bring the space to life, a jumping castle and inflatable obstacle course, a carousel, ferris wheel, swing chair and super slide. Tokens for the rides are $6 each or for $15 you can get an unlimited pass on all rides, which Mavrick took advantage of by going on the super slide about 10 times!
There's a good selection of food options to eat too, including pizza, ice cream and other desserts, burgers, hot chips, kid's meals and wraps. Mavrick and I went with chicken nuggets and hot chips and we couldn't complain, they were pretty good!
As the sun start to set, the garden really came to life! Walk your way through displays including the Princess Castle, Around The World, Candy Land and Fairy Garden and watch the magic happen! There are thousands of lights in many colours, shapes and sizes and you have to really appreciate the hard work and effort gone into this incredible wonderland.
